With more than 25 years of culinary expertise, Executive Chef Mckenzie brings an unwavering passion for flavor, creativity, and craftsmanship to every plate. As the culinary leader at Halcyon, a hotel in Cherry Creek, he is celebrated for his dedication to fresh, seasonal ingredients and his ability to transform them into unforgettable dining experiences.
A graduate of Le Cordon Bleu in Minneapolis, Chef Mckenzie refined his skills in some of the country’s most respected kitchens, including Goodfellow’s in downtown Minneapolis (2001), Geyer’s on The Terrace in Cody, Wyoming (2010), and The Kitchen Bistro in downtown Denver (2013 to present). His approach marries time-honored culinary techniques with modern, thoughtful presentation, resulting in dishes that are both rooted in tradition and elevated in style.
Beyond the kitchen, Chef Mckenzie draws inspiration from his passions—exploring local farmers markets, skiing Colorado’s slopes, playing tennis, cultivating his garden, and sharing exceptional meals with friends. Each of these experiences informs his perspective, infusing his cuisine with authenticity and a sense of place.
