Crepe Therapy Café was originally established in 2018 in Snowmass Village, Colorado, as The Crêpe Shack. Despite the small size of the storefront, it launched with a global-sized impact, offering the famous Bougie Crêpe (also known as the Caviar Crêpe) at opening day.
Owner and founder Mawa McQueen, an award-winning chef and restaurateur, got her culinary start in Paris as a teenager and describes crêpes as a “sweet memory” of her time in France.
Mawa expanded The Crêpe Shack to downtown Aspen in May 2023 to great success. With many customers asking for a location to open outside of the Roaring Fork Valley, Mawa set her sights on bringing customizable and craveable crêpes to other communities.
“As we started to expand, I felt like it was a fitting time to change the name to something that would reflect what we are all about,” Mawa said. With plans to open a new location in Boulder, in August 2025, The Crêpe Shack was rebranded to Crepe Therapy Café .
The new name highlights the little moment of self-care and joy with every bite that each custom crêpe can bring to your life. At Crepe Therapy Café , we don’t just serve food, we serve moments of comfort, care, and connection.
